Kristen Mengwasser's proposal selected for funding by the Human Biospecimen Pipeline Development Initiative

Kristen Mengwasser and Diana Alba's proposal “Development of an Obesity and Immune-Mediated Disease Pipeline at ZSFG” has been selected by the Office of Collaborative Research and the Bakar ImmunoX Initiative for funding through the ZSFG-Based Human Biospecimen Pipeline Development Initiative.
 
The proposal stood out for its strong scientific rationale, clear implementation strategy, and its potential to establish a valuable clinical sample stream that supports impactful and inclusive research. Particularly exciting is the opportunity to increase access to biospecimens from underserved patient populations and the collaborative potential this pipeline offers to the broader UCSF research community.
